For backlit applications, the light is transmitted through the translucent solid sheet with almost no alternation, ensuring homogenous light distribution and making visible LED hot-spots a thing of the past. This includes processing in flat applications e.g. light boxes. Even without backlighting, however,the material continues to attract attention thanks to its light white surface.
